Just remembered some more detail:
Besides having the skins off the seats, I had to use a little bottle with a needle nose on it, meant for applying oil in tiny quantities, to poke through the scrim and foam that are stitched to the underside of the leather, to get the treatment I was using, I think it was Lexol, thru and onto the back sides of the seat skins.
Tried to be fairly even about it, and then used water on seats as well, and flexing them around a lot, to help spread and even the treatment out, and work it in. When I hog ringed and S-hooked the skins onto the frames and they had dried, they were surprisingly new-like in flex of the leather, without a greasy top surface. Lots of work though as I said before.
I had to create new "listings" I think they're called, the fabric hems attached to the seat seams that hold the U-shaped wire and cross wires that suck the seat down to the frame with the S-hooks. The original cotton ones were rotted and worn through.
