You should pay attention to the smooth return of your ignition key from Start to Run. If it's hanging up on return that's what you'll get. Slamming door might be just enough shock to jar it to proper position.
May not actually still be actuating starter but may not be back all the way to run spot.
If that's it, catch it before it gets worse and ruins a starter.
