I had a helluva-head-sratcher boost issue on my 1994. Due to an unrelated issue I had the hood off and took it for a spin... BOOST!! After lots of fiddling it turned out that the vacuum line to either the vacuum timing advance or fuel pressure regulator was being pinched when the hood was closed all the way. After re-jiggering these vacuum lines I got lots of boost back. Do you best to re-rout them under stuff so they're free from the hood. Just an idea.
