There was a video on Youtube for a while, of the experiment taking place, but now I can't seem to find it.

Here's a research paper on the risks instead:

Propane will boil at about -40F, making it much more equivalent to R134a in terms of pressure-temperature curve. But that's absolutely fine for a SAAB A/C system. And the propane molecules are plenty big (and the propane is plenty cheap) so that a little seepage out of the old, non-barrier R12 hoses is not a problem.
