The way you write it it sounds like you mean inserting the drip tray under the A/C evaporator on 85 and older 900 and drill a hole through the right inner fender to route a hose out?

I think 86 was the first year that had the tray from factory.

Mitchell On Demand might have a better explanation of the service bulletin.
