I just found one of my favorites today.

For favorite (most satisfying) fixes:

1. (Last night) Tightened shifter housing (the three triangular nuts). Took 20 minutes. Shifting went from sloppy and a lot of movement in gear to tight, solid between gears with no slop! Like driving a new Saab with a new shifter and transmission!
2. Tires! My first SPG I purchased with all seasons. Drove it home in the first snowstorm of the year in Vermont and went off the road twice within less than a mile. Bought brand new studded snows the next day and it was like driving a tank! Twice I passed plow trucks that had gone off the road. It could go where no car could.
3. Seat skin swap! In the 1990 (and maybe a couple of other years), the front seat skins are identical between driver and passenger sides. This summer I took an unused passenger side skin and replaced my worn drivers side skin with it, and voila! Near-new looking interior on the '90 SPG!!! Took about 1 hour.
4. Townsend reverse gear fix. My c900 vert popped out of reverse so bad that I thought it was not savable. Did the reverse gear fix and now it's awesome! Worked really really well. No more popping or grinding or anything. Just smooth and relaxing.

Favorite Upgrades:

1. Red box APC from a 1987 9000 on a '90 SPG. Incredible fuel curve and turbo pull!!! Plug and play - takes 5 minutes or less.
2. Jak Stoll EPROM chip. Leveled my engine right out after installing red top injectors and 3.0 bar FPR. Now it pulls so smooth and clean - feels like I always imagined an SPG should feel!
3. Lighting! I found a set of AutoPal H4 lenses in a junkyard about a year ago and stuck them on my '80 900 to replace the sealed beams. AWESOME!!! I went from fog lights that were brighter than my headlights to the best stinking headlights that I have ever seen! Next I found a set of E-codes for the '90 SPG and had the same effect! Awesome upgrade!!
4. Suspension! I stuck Koni red shocks and Intrax springs on my '90 SPG with all new bushings, and it changed my world! Looks wicked cool, feels awesome in corners, and no more banging and clunking. In the '80 900 turbo, I stuck on a set of SPG swaybars and again changed my world!!! Huge improvement!!!
