I've been trying to think of a way to wrap wire in a cross hatch between the gears, to stiffen the cluster gear. Rob wanted to figure out a way to put a bearing in the middle, I don't see how to get one in there, so I thought about doing a wire strand wrap with some epoxy or something to bind together the strands. And perhaps reducing the diameter of the syncro sleeves so there is more room as they live in the same space as the cluster.
The point is to keep the cluster from bending as it's supported at both ends with nothing in the middle. Also, the springs for the guide rings fly apart and get lodged inbetween the cluster and the 3rd / 4th gear the results are spectacular -- they lose teeth faster than Arkansas women.
