They run smoothly. Other than the broken wire on the connector, they haven't given me any trouble since it settled in our driveway in '99. I'm careful to hold the belt forward before turning the key to put enough slack in so the motor and various plastic drive components aren't put under too much tension while the unit is going into position. Ditto with when I'm turning the car off.
That said, I recently obtained a set of very nice front seats from an Italian car (one that shares body engineering with the 9000).
These seats will bolt right in so, in my copious free time (Hah!), I'll swap out the automatic seatbelts with manual ones.
