T5 conversion and the state of California Posted by StoicBlue87 [Email] (#1829) [Profile/Gallery] (more from StoicBlue87) on Thu, 23 Mar 2017 11:21:30 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Has anyone here done a T5 conversion to their c900 in the state of California?
I ask because when I watch the service techs pore over the engine when I drive either my 87 turbo or 92 NA into the service bay for a smog test every two years, the guys spend about 15 minutes eyeballing EVERYTHING under the hood to make sure that it's stock. One time they were calling other stations to check if my 87 had been modded (it was all stock). Struck me that they don't know what they're looking at with c900s.
Does a T5 conversion require a visit to the CA DMV for a vehicle inspection? As a rebuild or some other serious modification?
Or some other government agency office?
I'd be curious how other states treat T5'd c900s also.
Thanks.
