Drains go to the vents on the side. There are exit drains in the wheel wells that are related to the quarter panel, but unrelated to the sunroof drain.
You should be able to dribble water into the rails while the sunroof is open nose up so the water goes rearward, and the water should come out of the vent, left and right respectively. Use an incline and or jack to point the water to test to see if the water exits the way it is supposed to.
