I don't want to make it sound worse than it is, but if she gave you the car, and $4,000 cash, given you end up having to do anything to it that will lead to the next issue that then exposes the next problem that ends up in the matrix of 27 things wrong.......you will lose money if you got $4,000 for it when you got tired of it being in the shop all the time.
Parts for the fuel injection are tough to find, the fuel system is probably contaminated by modern fuel that will melt the pump parts, etc etc.
I have an 82 shell I'll give you for free, come get it. You'll still loose $8K on that one as well.
OK, sorry about being negative on it, but since it has rust, the more you take it apart, the more you'll find. It's an endless battle.
the good news is that it has the more recent ignition system, it it was an '81, you'd be changing that for a '82 as well. So, it's not all bad news, just get used to the fact the parts are tough to find, it's an oddball year, no telling what other mechanics have left behind that will have to be redone.
