Thanks for your kind words.....we'll need a miracle I'm afraid.
I can't wrap my head around an engine replacement in the 2005 Toyota 3.3 liter V6. Same engine as a Lexus 330 as I recall. Just the remove and replace is 25 hours of labor, that would take me 25 months to do. We coaxed it along for 181K with normal maintenance, a few little hiccups, mostly just brakes and tires, and fluids. If the mechanic that changed the plugs at the maintenance interval correctly, we wouldn't be having this conversation.
My hope is there is a little piece of porcelin or something that is going to get banged away from the valve operation, hoping that it isn't bent.
I suppose we could explore taking the head off that one side, but that would probably run into 2 grand by the time the rest of the job is done, and that would almost exceed the value of the car at least on kelly blue book.
I think we'll have to scuttle it unfortunately. Maybe we'll get lucky, it will catch fire on the test drive, and cremate itself.........
