Thank you for your recent post!

The 1986 900T would have the fuel pump cut-off switch located under the dash on the driver's side. Many mechanics will locate the switch by removing the entire knee shield to gain access but there is an easier method which allows flexing the driver's side black plastic ventilation ducting.
After removing the Torx screws retaining the black plastic foot ventilation ducting, you will slowly bend this duct which will allow for the supporting under the clutch pedal, if your 900 has the 5 speed transmission. After bending the ducting, you will then be removing foam insulation, and then crawling on your back to view the cut-off switch with an inspection light. The switch is identified looking for a metal bracket which retains both the APC pressure transducer and the cut-off switch.
The cutoff switch can be identified due to it's large central adjustment screw which is located in the center of this component.
Due to the fact that these switches have been known to fail which could cause a no start condition, the best way to eliminate this switch by means of removal of the two wires connected to the switch, and connecting these together by means of a butt-connector, etc.
