Rough running and fuel related problems, as well as ignition sound like what you have going on.
This could be a bunch of things, you'll need to make a list of known components that aren't the problem and start on changing each one methodically.
Most of my cars are post LH2.2, so I'll listen and learn myself.
I can say this -- I did have a LH2.2 car that had issues, solved by a reman'd AMM by Injection Labs in Boulder, CO. The other issue, intermittent was the distributor and the weak connector on the body of the distributor. Then the ignition amp became wonky and after it warmed up the amp overheated. I found that out by spraying keyboard air on the iggy amp to cool it off while running, then it was obvious the component would change characteristics after startup.
