A/C Clutch Clamping Diode - Trionic T5 - Fried Alternators Posted by ccb056 [Email] (#1568) [Profile/Gallery] (more from ccb056) on Tue, 11 Jul 2017 17:35:17 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
So I recently installed eEuro's Trionic conversion kit.
The car runs beautifully with the new Trionic system, except I've gone through two alternators in less than 24 hours. Boy, these can be a pain to replace.... I've still got the AC wired up, but I had to re-wire the connection to the ac compressor. This connector is now unplugged. I believe this may have removed what eEuro calls a "clamping diode", included in their wiring kit 101E00023. It's going to take eEuro 8 days to make the harness and ship to me. So for now, I've got a 3rd alternator installed, which allowed me to drive down to South Texas.... I've recently relocated. I'd love to plug the AC in ASAP, it's hot here.... but I don't want to risk frying another alternator. Anyone familiar with this diode or has wired something up?
