Slow deceleration Posted by coepercussion [Email] (#2117) [Profile/Gallery] (more from coepercussion) on Tue, 18 Jul 2017 11:20:25 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
85 spg, 300,000+ miles. It seems a bit slow in response when taking your foot off the throttle between shifts. It's more noticeable 3rd to 4th, and 4th to 5th. But even just revving the engine in neutral the response on the deceleration seems slow, as if it likes to hang up around the 3k rpm level before dropping back. This makes it more difficult than it seems it should be during shifting. Any places I can check in particular? I'm thinking throttle body probably needs a good cleaning. I've checked hoses and done the usual. The car runs fine and idles great. I don't think it is in the AIC valve as that is clean and idle is good. I've not replaced the throttle position sensor so that could be an issue. Anyone else deal with this symptom before? I should also mention it seems more pronounced when using the A/C. The throttle mechanism and cable all seem good, deceleration valve functions like it should. Maybe the cable itself needs cleaning and lubrication?
