I have the same 94CE and recently noticed a "tapping/clicking" sound. I had just watched a "Sea Foam" demonstration performed on an older model mustang. They ran a can through the crankcase, a can in the gas tank, and fed a can through the intake manifold. They recommended that your gas tank be empty (old gas) and drive it for 100-125 miles and then change the oil. I decided to try it, bought three cans ($7.00 ea.) and watched the white smoke come out of the exhaust for a couple of hours. The tapping noise was gone and, generally speaking, seemed to run quiet and smoother. No, I don't work for Sea Foam. Give it a try, it's a $20.00 gamble.
I bought my 94CE from a guy who treated his Saab like a "Garage Queen". One of my conditions of purchase was that the Saab would make the drive from Pennsylvania back to Virginia (approx. 130 miles). The fist 50 miles, I was ready to turn around and take it back. I did make it home and decided I would have a "driver" and not a "queen". I drive my CE daily, weather permitting, and am convinced that's the best way to treat your Saab. Good Luck
