Soccer Ball wheels on 85 900 Posted by Fogline [Email] (#1152) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Fogline) on Sat, 27 Jan 2018 19:19:49 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
So -
I have gone over prior posts. My understanding of the issue of putting soccer balls or incas is a clearance with the hub on front wheels of later models. I pulled the two sets I got some time ago (one of each) and suspect that they were already machined out to accommodate a slightly wider hub.
My question is when I put one of the soccer balls on my front wheel, it seems like it has the sections where the lug nuts go snugging up to the wheel around the hub but that there is some distance from there to the actual center hole in the soccer ball wheels.
Not sure if this is safe or ok. Hopefully this makes sense. Also - my understanding is that the wheel is 1/2 inch narrower than the Incas, that I also have and have also apparently been machined to allow later hub. Not sure how much of an issue that is with tire selection.
Thanks for any insight.
