I have driven a '93 Turbo CE daily for the last 8 1/2 years. Both locally and frequent road trips. From my perspective it's all about maintenance. Regardless of how well cared for it is, it is still a 25 yr old car. The Classic 900 responds well to love and attention. Properly set up they handle quite nimbly. Great in the snow, lots of fun on twisty roads. Any V6 Camry can beat me off the line, but that's not how I drive so it doesn't matter.
"Vintageness" is a concern, as some critical parts are NLA, and aftermarket availability can be spotty. Having a mechanic familiar with these cars is important, though I'm guessing that's not an issue. Tire choices are limited given the 15" wheel diameter.
As I have never driven a Saab newer than my '93 I can't say how it compares with its successors. But I know it puts a smile on my face every time I get behind the wheel.
Hope this was helpful.
