Radiator Cooling Fans Posted by Matt Grimes [Email] (#2198) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Matt Grimes) on Thu, 5 Apr 2018 05:21:20 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Got my C900 back out of storage and drove it to work the other day. Was reminded of a problem that I deferred last fall regarding the proper operation of the cooling system.
Symptom: temp gauge climbs up towards the red. Gets closer than I think it should...Aux fan kicks on and pulls the the temp back down to normal (middle of green) When Aux fan goes off temp starts climbing again. Outside temps are only around 60-70 degrees.
I think this is the first car I've ever owned that didn't have an engine-driven clutch fan as the primary. What is the correct behavior of the primary electric cooling fan? Always on? Temp controlled?
Thanks,
Matt
