If you're referring to the temperature switch in the upper radiator hose, it's only function is to cut off the A/C compressor when the temp rises above a set point. The part number for this switch is 40-86-724. You can safely ignore/disconnect/throw out the switch and the tube, and just connect the two wires together (assuming your A/C works). Usually I do this when that upper radiator hose gets replaced and the tube never gets spliced back in...
The switch it seems like you're trying to replace screws directly into the radiator on the upper left-hand side.
