Dealing with anti lock light issues. Throws code # 1222 - main valve etc.
Did all the ohm/continuity tests (2- 5 ohms mine is 4 ohms) and grounds are ok as well as continuity through harness. So they say replace brake ecu.
I replaced with a used and suspected good ecu( same part # 40 -02-176) but anti lock light stays on. The confusing part is that I can't get new box to go into code retrieval mode - the anti lock light won't illuminate at all when I try to get error codes but lights when operating in normal mode. Should I suspect that used and supposed good ecu is actually no good?
I still get a "1222" with my original ecu and no codes with the used and ""told it was a working ecu".
I can jumper 12 volts onto pin 18 of harness and the main valve cycles so it isn't the valve or wiring (at least how I figure it) so, I guess I'll buy another ecu...unless someone can tell me what inputs the ecu looks for in order to determine a functional abs system- I know wheel sensors but what else..
Thanks
Dave
