oil leak causing clutch master issue? Posted by Fogline [Email] (#1152) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Fogline) on Tue, 17 Jul 2018 14:16:55 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi All,
My 85 900 Turbo just stopped going easily into gear. I noticed yesterday that the pedal was not having any resistance until almost fully engaged. I didn't seem to have any slippage of the clutch and it seemed to get slightly better with driving.
Today when I got in it would barely go into gear.
When I got the car a few months ago, it had an oil leak that I hadn't even really looked for, though seemed to be getting significant. In looking at this board I found that the problem is likely the oil pressure sensor that is leaking as a lot of oil seems to be coming out of something that looks kind of like an oxygen sensor above the oil filter. Initially I thought it might actually be the filter, but found the leak was higher.
In any case - does anyone think that oil leaking down could be causing problems with the clutch master? I don't have leaks inside the car - which I had with my 80 when the clutch master failed there.
Thanks - as always - for any wisdom you can pass along.
