Cruise control question...

So the back story is I've taken a 1990 convertible automatic and turned it into a 5-speed. This is the second time I've done this. The cruise control just worked and everything was fine. This time the cruise light on the dash does not come on when you click the switch on the turn signal. So I ignored that and proceeded to see if the cruise was working all the switches are hooked up correctly and I have vacuum to them still not getting the light on the dash come on though. I just tested it today so I haven't really thought about it all that much just wondering if anybody has any ideas. I'm wondering if the switch is no good. The blinker switch itself is definitely newer and looks just like the one in my 1990. I will check the wiring tomorrow. The blinker switch is definitely not original so maybe the wiring is not quite right. Somebody else may have not gotten it right when they put the replacement switch in. The brake switch is working properly it comes on when you press the pedal it goes off when you take your foot off ,so that switch is definitely working like it's supposed to be. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
