Found that there had been a tail light replaced on the leaking side, the "mechanic" put the clamp bracket so it didn't engage the body portion, so when you tighten the nut, it just makes the bracket tighter to the light, not to the body.
All the nuts were suspect loose, I took the "calk" and tried to get it to stay on the gasket, that stuff wants more to stick to fingers than it does the mating surface. Pulled it all down evenly and it sealed it up.
Now, I have to figure out how to seal the trunk lock -- water when forced to it, will migrate through the interface and end up inside the rear lip of the trunk lid.......I have new o ring and spacer, the lock is tight, it just isn't sealed. I guess some clear sealer will have to be the solution there.
