Engine removal - last steps Posted by Matt Grimes [Email] (#2198) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Matt Grimes) on Sun, 23 Sep 2018 06:40:59 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
After a much longer time than expected I am finally ready to pull the motor out of my 93 parts car. I have everything disconnected/removed and have followed the Bentley instructions for shimming the right upper control arm and removing the bolts securing the lower ball joint. I can now pull the drive axle away from the transmission on that side.
Curiously, the manual does not mention doing the same procedure to the drivers side control arm/lower ball joint. I am hoping because that it is unnecessary and with the right side loose there will be enough freedom of movement when the engine is raised a bit and brought forward that it will not bind up.
Any thoughts on that theory?
