The bolt closest to the firewall should be a 12mm head. I remove the belts and pivot the alternator away from the block. I've been known to remove the heater hoses for more access. But I'm known to remove more things than necessary-got wrenches, must use. With those actions the access isn't too bad. The other two bracket bolts have a 6mm Allen socket head. Those need care to avoid stripping the socket head. For the bottom one I use a piece of wooden shovel handle to press the alternator back against the block. I use my shoulder to push on the handle so I have both hands free. Line the Allen bit wrench carefully so it is not at an angle.
