It snaps into the top of the heater box on the left side top, close to the firewall and just inboard of the heater control valve. Its almost square (2.5x3")with an electrical plug near the centre. It is, in theory, accessible thru the left speaker grille assuming your arms look like ET's with a couple of extra wrists. Never say never but it seems unlikely the resister would cause a short. Usually failure results in lack of power to the motor. You may have a failing heater blower. If it squeals or rumbles on occasion, suspect the motor. A 30 amp fuse may keep it running for a bit.I'm in Alaska so, trust me,avoid the cheap aftermarket blower without the cone shaped device down the centre of the squirrel cage.Lots of sound and fury, but very little air from that one
