The AC lines came from a 1997 Volvo sedan (probably 850). The piece we need is half of a union fitting. The union was near the firewall, maybe.
I'll measure it when I get a chance. Looks like I can take the turn signal assembly out to get to the outboard line.
This fitting is common in automotive AC systems so there are lots of potential donors out there.
FWIW, I was also looking at AC fittings from Honda Accords, 5th and 6th generation (1994-1997, 1998-2002) and I rejected those as too large. If memory serves, the OD of the "bead" that presses the O-ring was too large or the tube OD was too large for the Saab nut that holds the tube into the cooler.
I found my notes.
- All the brass is 3/8". This includes the hose barb, the pipe fittings and the flare.
- The McMaster Carr O-ring part number is 011F75Q. Viton 75 Duro. I used 2 on each side. I see McMaster no longer has these in their online catalog but there was nothing special about these. I had them on hand and they were compatible with oil.
- Hose clamps are #006.
