Regarding turbocon's post, if you do have a sender on the right, certain fuel additives, (one specifically was MTBE (?) used here in Alaska in the early 90's) will cause the plastic float to swell slightly and apparently there is, by design, a slight bottle neck in the aluminum tube between 1/3 and 1/4 fuel level where the swollen float would stick. Many of my customers would marvel at their new found fuel mileage until they ran the tank dry !
