Every c900 we've ever owned was bought with warts and some needed repairs and the prices are usually negotiable. That said, if you DIY, excluding paint which is best left to pros, you will wind up with a great vehicle at reasonable cost. Agree with Darren on the special performance features found on CE editions including suspension. That stuff can be retrofitted to a non CE but the components are getting hard to find or simply no longer available - especially the -010 dizzy. If they are already on the car, you'll avoid a great deal of time and money rounding up and installing rare parts or buying new ones if they even exist. The reverse issue is one of the easier trans problems to fix and may just be a worn selector lever which is common. Sure, rust is a concern. But surface rust and cancer are totally different problems. The only way this car can be judged for a potential refresh project is a personal visit by the buyer or an objective and knowledgeable c900 person on his behalf. 10 hours is a long way to go. But, not totally unreasonable if you turn it into an adventure. Just be ready to walk away with nothing...
