Just to give a back story.this transmission was shipped to me from Pennsylvania and it was supposed to be in the 100% working order. All I did was take off the covers and replace the gaskets I did nothing internal. I do understand what you're talking about but I didn't remove or add anything.I was able to take the dowel pin out of the 5th gear fork but I'm not able to get any of that front gearing to move at all. I can't get the shifter lever to go over into the 5th gear gate at all. I hope I'm making myself understood.I have also never taken a transmission apart I'm just trying to figure out why it's not going into 5th without pulling it back out of the car.I have both of the side covers off right now and I have put the car into the gears and tried moving the wheels to dislodge 5th gear I've had no luck.I've also changed the shifter linkage that didn't do anything either but there was nothing wrong with the one that was in it. What I can't figure out is why it won't go into the fifth gear gate. Thanks.
