90-94 SRS steering clock spring solution? Posted by DET17 [Email] (#1254) [Profile/Gallery] (more from DET17) on Sun, 16 Dec 2018 10:20:41 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hey there.... checking in to see if the SAAB faithful have created a solution to the NLA clockspring situation for the airbag wheel later vehicles?
When I rebuilt the steering column on my 91 'Vert, upon reassembly I no longer had horn function. Great care was taken to "center" the clockspring device, but upon assembly I no longer had horn function! I've ignored it for the years since, but now with INGA up for sale (see classifieds) I need to restore a functional horn.
Last I checked, the only solution was to convert the steering column to a 86-89 version, toss the SRS wheel and adapt the earlier steering column and associated "slip ring" power system for the horn. Have there been any revelations since then?
Appreciated!
Duane
