IMO: not very difficult at all (and worth the effort).
Please don't think me (too) crazy - but I confess that after doing it many times I consider removing the dash top to be a pleasant bit of work.
It enables me to do important things...like killing the shift-up and srs lights !!!
I have made it a practice, right after buying a 9KT to get in there and replace the instrument/EDU/idiot light bulbs, check the vacuum hose to the boost gauge for cracking, replacing cracked tweeters, as well as other things specific to me, like jumpering the instrument lights to be on whenever the car is running and replacing the alarm LED with one I like better.
All in all I call it 1 1/2->3 hours well spent with appreciable results !
Best Wishes,
mark
