Ok, most likely its the main cabin fan dying, Generally this burns out the speed control transistor in short order, which is expensive. The Fan is cheap, labor is extensive. Always consider doing a heater core when doing the fan, if you don't know for a fact it's been replaced.

The cabin temp sender is a little fan in the dash next to the ACC unit, should be pretty obvious if that's the source of the noise, rather than the main one.
