Here's the scoop: I picked up some "aero" springs from a seemingly genuine saab guy (all the questions about what saabs I've owned, stories of the saabs he's owned, that sort of thing). The had been "sandblasted and primed". I painted them and was ready to put them on my '96 CSE in the hopes that the aero springs would work better with the Bilsteins I had on all corners. The rear springs on my car, with the color markings yellow, blue, white, blue, yellow were identical to the new springs in height. With a gauge the new ones were about 5-10 100th of an inch thicker but I would chalk that up to paint layers. My fronts have the color marks of green, green, white, green, green. The thickness difference is about the same with the fronts. I suppose the question initially is whether or not the springs on the car are correct for my car. Second, did I just get hosed? I'd appreciate your input before I call someone an outright chump.
