I used some Infinity Reference 5X8 component speakers to replace my factory. I have had good luck with these in the past, but this time they are really not any better than the factory units. I think that you will have to spend pretty good money to get a lot better than the factory speakers as they are component and have decent bass. You will note from my picture that the 5X8 speakers required substantial modifications. All in all, they are a fine replacement, but I am not sure that dropping a 6X9 two or three way in might be just as good, cheaper, and easier.
