Depends on the aggressiveness of the yard you're dealing with but realize these cars aren't high-demand items, they're likely to crush it with everything still on it if you dawdle.

If this is a you-pull-it-first yard I'd be tempted to tell you to just go, pull all you want, and make a pile and ask how much. You might be surprised at how low you're quoted; if it's higher than you want to pay, offer what you wanted it to be and see. If still no go, try pulling off the pile less-wanted items till it reaches your price.
