SKF bearings are not perfect

SKF bearings are OEM and are supposed to be the top quality bearing part that you can buy. Note however that the only pulley failure that I have had on my 9000 was a replacement SKF Idler Pulley bearing that failed at about 45,000 miles a few years ago while my wife was driving the car. I replaced it with a genuine SAAB part (in a GM bag) made in Italy, didn't change anything else besides the shredded belt, has been fine since. The new part has a kind of formed washer that may serve as a dust shield, but not really sure why its there.
