You're doing fine, and there is just about no way that you are going to "electrocute yourself" with a 12 volt battery.

The current measurement in milliAmps is what you are interested in, not sure why/how you are getting a voltage measurement in DC Volts mode, if I understand what you are saying. The 50 mA drop for the radio may be OK, I'm not sure. The ECU should give a similar current draw.
