need more advice on clutch and trans (long)
Posted by scarab 92t (more from scarab 92t) on Sat, 14 Jul 2012 21:54:34

I have a 92 9000 t 170,000 miles with a manual trans that has been giving me a few issues just recently. 50% of the time when im either cruising in neutral or at a stop and go to shift into gear it just wont go unless I absolutely force it.. the pedal feel / clutch hydraulics are all absolutely fine, the linkage is good, no broken rubber shift bushing or anything. When it does go into gear it feels good to normal.. I've owned 3 manual trans 9000s and have done many clutch / trans replacement jobs and the last time i had one acting like this it had a shredded clutch disc on the pressure plate side and the pressure plate was actually broken into three pieces, the crazy thing is that believe it or not the clutch pedal still felt normal it was just virtually impossible to get into gear while running and once you were in gear it would slip very bad... the thing about my current car is that its not slipping at all even with 15 or more psi full boost.. so do you think it sounds like a bad clutch or some weird internal trans problem?
