TCS bleeder valve P/N 4015202 1 Saabers Like This Post! Posted by SWEDECAR [Email] (#112) [Profile/Gallery] (more from SWEDECAR) on Mon, 15 Oct 2012 17:08:03 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have not confirmed this on a Saab 9000 TCS yet but maybe it is possible to use the Volvo 850/70 SAI air injection valve (P/N 1270389 $94.99) instead when the bleeder valve goes bad since the Saab valve can be tough to find sometimes.
I had a Volvo 850 in today with a malfunctioning air injection system and the problem turned out to be the vacuum solenoid acting up not supplying vacuum to the air flow valve.
This valve just about never fails on a Volvo and this is the first time I had to replace one.
I removed it and realized it looked similar the 9000 TCS bleeder valve and function of it seemed to be the same with a dump nipple at the back that was open to vacuum user when in rest position.
So for testing this 850 I stuck a good used 9000 TCS valve in there and it passed the SAS test right away.
When I got the new Volvo valve in I tested the resistance and it reads 33 Ohm, not 30 as in the Saab one so that's a slight difference but maybe not enough to mess with the TCS system ETS brain.
So if someone is in a pinch and need to try something to get the 9000 running, try to scavenge a used SAI valve for the 96-98 Volvo 850/70 model with air injection system and see if it works.
It is located on top of the radiator under a plastic cover together with some other relays for the cooling fan and such.
Good luck
Anders
