I found a car that "officially" takes 34R! Any others? I thought of the same thing and I found one: 2004 Acura NSX (yeah, like I would be driving one of these in the winter in Chicago!!!). My guess is that some older Ford products use this size, but I can't find one yet as this size has probably been superseded in most of the listings, including the one for a SAAB 9000, since some retailers (Interstate Batteries) have stopped carrying it - which is what started this whole story.
My owners manual only states 60 Ah for the capacity, doesn't give group size or I could have used that in my argument. As an electrical engineer who understands more than a few things about batteries and sizes of circuit components, this is really frustrating.
Note that while I was searching for this, I found that Sears carries what looks like the exact same 34R-AGM battery for $10 less shipped to your house - and perhaps no questions about what car it will fit???
