CG - - You could do some searching on here and elsewhere on line about these, but my first step would be to call Ericsson Industries and describe what's going on.
The very nice guy I've talked to there before, Nat I think maybe?, knows these things very well, and they sell about everything needed for repair or rebuild, as well as rebuilding them themselves.
The problem you are describing sounds as if it might be a bad spring or dirt in the valve body. On these, pull the battery and battery tray and the top cover of tranny and the valve body is right there. It's a can of worms but if you have patience and a clean dry shop space with lots of light, you might venture in yourself. Others have. There are two pages of gif images of the 9000 valve body available on line, and lots of diagnostic and repair info, if Ericsson thinks it's fixable in-car.
