The "swaybar" (actually an anti-swaybar) will try to keep the suspension somewhat "flat", i.e. equal compression on both sides; so if you jack up the right side, the left side will be compressed and will try to compress the right side suspension through the swaybar. You might have an easier time if you jack up both sides, allowing the right side to drop down, which will make replacement easier.
Not sure what you are asking about the swivel member. At the bottom of the ball joint, removing the three small bolts will disconnect everything except the swaybar connection from the control arm.
