I've had bent rear axles on two of the five 9ks I've owned. Getting that sorted out is really worth it. Laser levels can be very effective in diagnosing things, particularly if you're ambitious enough to set up a target way out front of the car. Depending on the tread pattern of the tires a tape measure can be quite accurate to set front toe if you average many readings. A short level works well to establish cross camber but you have to do the math to get absolute values. I haven't figured out DIY caster yet.
All these tricks are good to indicate what parts needs you need to replace. Then you take the car to a really good alignment shop where they'll appreciate your effort, dial in the toe, and give you a printout for $50 or so.
