Remote door lock question

I am retiring my 94' Aero with 312K miles in the next couple of months or so. Still runs great, original clutch etc, however, it has quite a bit of rust in the rear near the trailing arms and will need a clutch soon. So last year in anticipation of it's demise I picked up a 97' aero and have been fixing it up slowly, it is in very good shape and expect to get over 300K on that one as well. So I plan on keeping a 9000 on the road for many years to come, I hope.
The only thing left that is not quite working right is the the remote locks (a feature that the 94' did not have)
When you press the FOB to lock the doors it works fine, but the parking lights only flash once, same when I unlock it, it only flashes once. In both cases there is no short beep from the horn, should there be one? Also the Alarm LED does not work at all.
The problem is not too bad in that it is still usable, however, because the lights flash only once in both locking and opening the door locks one can not tell if the car is open or locked when you are not near the car.
BTW the alarm does work. I locked the doors with the remote with a window open, reached in and open one of the doors and the alarm does go off.
Any ideas where to look? Would the alarm module be a good starting point? Where is it located?
Any suggestions would be appreciated, I did a search but did not see anything that matched what I am seeing.
Thanks.
Tony
