To get to the bottom edge you might need to take the door panel off.
Then start at the bottom edge on either end and carefully pull the trim piece out towards you. The trim piece is held in place on the back side with molded tabs that snap into metal clips around the door window frame. Work up the trim strip freeing it from one clip at a time.
Then do the same thing from a donor car to get a trim strip that is not broken.
To remount to the car, line up the trim strip and gently tap/pound the strip with your hand until the tab snaps into the first clip. Then work up the strip to the other end. Make sure the molded tabs line up with the clips on the door frame.
You should be able to get the trim strip off with nearly all of the tabs intact from a donor car. If you break one off here's what to do. Use the 3m super trim adhesive double sided tape (the grey tape with the red plastic) on the tabs when fitting the new strip in place. Place the tape on the flat surface of the metal clip.
I have done this on a broken trim strip on my 1992 9000 S.
