Well, seein' that we both speak fluent 900eeeze, I think we're both looking at these 9000s waiting for 'em to make us luv 'em like the 900s. Here's where I'm at after 8 months of ownership: A fair amount of money has been leaving my pocket for repair costs here. For a car that has low miles and was well cared for, I inherited a lot of "prevenative maintainance problems"??
Since I've owned it, I've put in all the clutch stuff, (all Sachs, or OEM Saab parts) cat back new exhaust, (Walker stuff). All new brakes, (rotors and pads), three blown coolant hoses. I've been chasing a pesky A/C problem that many of these cars seem to be plagued with...the compressor clutch shim repair. (GREAT trick!!).
Beyond the mechanical issues, it had a cracked dash top and a saggy headliner and someone put in a crap aftermarket radio. I tracked those pieces thru various Saab online places. All those things are righted now as well. I'm into the car for about $3800.00 right now. I'm not sure if I'm at a point where I could recoup my investment if I wanted to sell......Time will tell....because she's not for me. I'm a 900 guy and that's where it ends. It IS fast, and it is comfortable, but it's kinda just a "car" to me. I'm obviously printing this in enemy territory, but I do bleed Swedish blue. I told my buddy, "The 900s and the 9000s are like the Protestants and the Catholics; The prayers and the songs are the same, but you know when you're in the wrong church.......Cheers, Bob
