Your car has detected what it interprets as an SRS fault. Now that the SRS lights are on, they will always flash for five minutes, then remain on steadily - there are actually two lights, one constantly on and one that flashes.
Most likely, there is nothing really wrong with the SRS system; the pre-1995 cars have SRS wiring with crimp connectors that oxidize with time, causing a slightly higher resistance than what the system is expecting in its self test. A retrofit wiring kit was made available by SAAB to correct this, but was crazy expensive for what it consisted of, i.e. a few pieces of wire with some connectors on them. One might have thought that a kit to correct a known possible safety issue would have been provided and installed at no charge, but by then SAAB was owned by GM......
You can try having the light reset by a mechanic that has a Tech II, but there is a high likelihood that it will come back on. Alternatively, you can cover the light with a piece of black electrical tape and live with it (what I did).
